No Ride No Smile

 When you're cool enough, for long enough - in our hood - you get monogrammed trail instructions. Fuck strava. We have rocks and sticks.

 And the hits keep coming and this area keeps delivering the love. Turn, after turn, after turn.

 View sucks tho. 

 Never seen 'em numbered. Took me 27 god damned years to find a numbered one.

 And finally, the future. Shreddy has a new ride. He is PUMPED. Hitting the bike park tomorrow afternoon to rock it like it's his job.

Bring On The Throttles

 

This season is way too long and I am totally over this pedal and sweat and breathe hard shit. I am OVER it. So, Q and I are putting something a little more powerful between our respective legs. Like Father, like Son. The apple doesnt fall far from the tree, or in this case, the body doesnt fall too far from the bike.

Uncle

 It's gorgeous out and I barely managed 5 hours on the bike this weekend. That's like half of what the weather is dictating. But, I am onlu human and I am wrecked. The weather looks insane for the next 10 days and I do not know how I am going to make it. Wah. The kids are killing the course as we build bigger and bigger and Q is going so far we had to get him a bigger bike with a longer wheelbase to pilot those landings. Phew. Sleep, and rest and rallying.

All I Need......

 Is 8 hours or so on the bike to quiet the mind. Was totally slow yesterday morning but it was a great and rare feeling to know I had ALL DAY to just literally get completely lost. Or found. I did not enter the FORBIDDEN ZONE (Jason, you and Mr Campbell would have been proud). Did see a mountain lion and very strange drag marks. Did manage to stay awake the whole day despite the low lite and the eclipse mid-day. Did really plant some great seeds for next season - if this season ever ends. I am wallowing in a great buzz from yesterday...looking forward to some recovery today and tee'ing it back up tomorrow.

Infinite Potential

 Well, Dear SportsFans....at the tail end of the season that may NEVER wrap up we are holding and even increasing the momentum. Tuesday bliss on the trails of love with things getting SO close. The She-God Terminator slaying the 'Blue Dot South/East' * and even delivering among other things a winning attitude, a painful pace AND fine hoppy beers. Tuesday's do not get better. Thursday MAY be better as I am taking the day to ride and explore - sunrise to sunset. See you out there. Probably not.

I followed it East and lost it in the undergrowth after some switchbacks. Today I followed it West all the way to where it came out on XXXXXXX. It looked similar to your "Reach around" sign and was secured with the same kind of phillips-head deck screw. Are you the guy? Father down the trail I spotted a splash of red through the trees and discovered a garden gnome perched on a boulder. Interesting Colorado mysteries! Can you tell me any more about this trail?"

I have redacted your statement appropriately. I also googled on the google and I could not get the innertubes to direct me to Mongolia. So, I do not know if you are on the side of light or the side of dark. That said, it seems you have some verve and curiousity. The Gnome you speak of is actually the 'Upper Frodo' gnome and his role is to accept offerings. Specifically, offerings of BEER. If you would like to pursue further woods knowledge, please deposit 4 cans of Renegade E3 with Frodo. Alert me when you have completed this task and then we can take it offline. Almost ready for prime time

 Due to the absurd longevity of the season there are some longer term projects coming to fruition. The weather is just insane. Hot in Boulder today. Almost too hot to eat lunch outside. Wahhhhhhh. Rode in. Probably should not have. But it was just amazing out. Good rides planned for this week. Need some recovery. Triple Wahh. Soccer practice tonite is kids against grown ups. I fear my shins will never be the same but I am pumped to kick a ball around with the midget circus. Buzzing like a crazy person from this weekend. Feeling very, very lucky that my son enjoys my company as much as I love his. Blessed.

Given To Fly

 Planets align infrequently. Lives, less so often. Couple, three times in a lifetime. I mean like true connection and something that vaults you above the basic gestalt of the every day world. These times are magical and rife with learning opportunities. So cool to see one of my mentors and teachers keeping it real with the midget flying circus. We spent 5 hours on the bike course today. Digging. Hauling dirt. Building. Creating. And they were just killing it. So natural and so effortless. If I can take this inspiration from my son (and my yoga teacher - cue douche bag music) - to be easy on the bike (and in life) and to let things flow and to not push. Allow things to be what they are and not try to make them into things they are not. If I can learn this at all from watching him both ride and navigate the world - I will be a much wiser human, and in turn I would hope my minimal contribution to this world would be slightly meaningful. A Little Huck'll Do Ya

 As The Endless Fall progresses, so do the jumps. The dirt pile arrived while we were in Fruita and we are putting it to good use. The kids are blowing it all wide open.
