Things ebb and flow. Riders come and go. Crews come and go. The drought is replaced by the monsoon and we all sleep a little better and the moisture makes the trails tacky and we are happy and we are out in the woods playing. Took some good folks on some great trails today and it was fun and felt right. I have many years of built up paranoia, by being 'burned' by people who ride for the wrong reasons or seek to be 'the man' by sharing stashes. This crews feels very different. No ego. Super chill. Just enjoying being in the woods. And I gotta say...I love it. A few more 'outside' voices and some folks with the motivation and drive to actually get into the woods and the high country and shape the future. Create your own reality as they say. The coolest thing about this creative process, is you put in the time and research and labor and love - one time. And then you get to enjoy it forever. I like that ratio and that equation. What you put in - you get out. And Jack Johnson even says it....it's always more fun to share with everyone. Here's to cool, mellow, ego-free people who love the woods. Yay, we fucking live here.
