This rest day thing is wild. I get on my bike the next day - and I actually have some verve! I actually left an HOUR early this am...rolling up The Z at about 6:30 (there was a mystery ride in FRONT of me - I think on a X-bike? Robb - was that you?) with 3+ hours to wander and lust. Games of Thrones was on my mind, as I have been watching it and loving it - and then I am coming out of some woods and we have the GIANT STICK WALL as well as the much newer: BOULDERS OF DEATH WALL. If had my sword, or cutlass or sabre - I may have done battle - but alas - there was no one to battle. I took the long way at every turn and it was random and lovely and amazing.
I feasted on 'Joey Cakes' at the overlook and then went in deep. Passing through some things that are there, that weren't there, that were sorta there, and then climbing back up (the long way - remember) to ride the INDUSTRIAL. Loose and fast and August like in it's surface. Did not see nary a rider - all morning - other than the ghost image on Z in the early light. A solid, meditative morning, much needed. Much appreciated.
Just spent the last hour reading up on past adventures. Thanks for preserving the memories. There is only one thing I'd change about the past three years - I wish I hadn't deleted the content of Off Camber that night I went to the hospital. Ah well. Hope to see you at Tin Shed, and hope it's a place of healing and reconciliation for the old crew.
