As the winter moves in - which it is - still not here - but you can feel it - and on the slopes of Eldora you could see it this am - my 'territory' if you will begins to shrink. Rather than the all day divide epics and such I find myself staying closer to home and relishing the fine singletrack within a stones throw. Did that for some 3 hours this afternoon...never wandering too far - just loving the local shit. It was windy - and cold this am - 34 degrees - warmed up - but I was back in knickers and long sleeves by 4 in the woods. Packing the last rides in - and the iminent lockdown is welcome...more down time - less rushing around...so for now - it's get everything you can - while you can - and the 4+ hours out this afternoon were a good deposit on the bank of singletrack karma. Speaking of karma - have a hearing with the USFS tomorrow about the possible re-opening of the shooting range right there behind re-boot off mag. If you ride or recreate around here - hit me with an email and I can tell you where to send letters and such - but suffice to say that there is a very out there Big Springs resident who thinks all manner of weapons should be allowed right there - some 100 feet from the road. Sounds safe? I think not.
